ABOUT BOND'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Branching Out in New Directions (BOND) offers its members a wide range of educational activities throughout the year, most planned and announced semi-annually.
BOND organizes Educational Programs, a regular series of learning experiences scheduled approximately on a monthly basis. The programs often involve a guided visit to a museum or other cultural institution for a specific exhibit.  Each event is led by an experienced guide or an expert on a topic of current interest.  These programs are generally designed for small groups (10 to 20) participants due to limited capacity of the venue or tour leader.  Fees are reasonable and vary for each program.

BOND’s study groups, scheduled monthly throughout the year, are a unique way to enrich our lives and to connect with others. Currently, there are regular book and short story groups. Special programs are often scheduled around poetry and other arts interests.

Currently Current is a series of public affairs programs dealing with current topics, usually involving outside speakers and sometimes visits.

Each year those of us who participate in study groups discover new friends and renew old acquaintances, while becoming a stronger BOND family in the process.

Study group registrants must be paid-up members. A non-member may attend one session per year and must pay the fee.

The annual Fall Book Author event gives members a first-hand chance to get to know local authors and learn about the latest developments in book publishing while raising a substantial amount of money toward scholarships. Information on the Book Author event may be found under the Fundraising header on this website.

A small contribution to BOND’s Scholarship Fund is built into the cost of almost all of BOND’s educational programs.

Educational programs are open to all BOND members who register in advance of the scheduled meeting.
