Currently Current

BOND's Currently Current discussion series focuses on timely and important public affairs topics.  Experts such as elected officials, academic scholars, nonprofit executives and other leaders are invited to address issues of concern and engage in dialog with interested members and their guests.
Recent topics have included:

  • "H20: Uncertain Resource," a report of the October 2009 Nobel Conference at Gustavus Adolphus College
  • Civil Liberties
  • Human Services
  • Health Care
  • Elections
  • Writing About Native Americans and Jews
  • Same Sex Marriage
  • Aging

These meetings are held in public and private locations throughout the Twin Cities.  The fee for participation in each meeting is $2.00, a contribution to support BOND's scholarships. Members may bring guests.  This is a great way to introduce others to our organization.
2013-2014 co-chairpersons are Phyllis Simon and Beverly Kunin.
